Clutch Install Now Well Under Way - Ckecking All Parts

All parts are now being thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All traces of protective oil or grease are being removed from the flywheel and pressure plate. We are still waiting for a few more parts for the MINI that we will be doing alongside the clutch install simply being because we are there in the vicinity. A new guide tune will also be used. For the cost of these it is worth replacing. We have also been completing some changes for our eBay store, check them out here.

Weighting the flywheel revealed it is 8.2Kg; not bad at all!

M45 Supercharger PTO Gears Destroyed and Seized

Right, now that the back end of the M45 supercharger has been removed; we are going to inspect it thoroughly. Outcome is not good; looks like the gear will have to be discarded and a completely new one manufactured. No one sells these gears! The fork gear in the back plate that drives the water pump is completely seized. We will worry about that later though.
The picture below shows the seized fork gears. So bad in fact they don't even turn. Nice!

A thorough bath in penetrating oil for 72hours will aid in the disassembly and final cleaning!
